Sivý peak loop (1805m)
Western Tatras · Bobrovecká vápenica
A wild journey to rocky Sivý vrch and back through one of the quietest valleys. Wilderness, rivers, rocks, moss and alpine flora.
The Sivý vrch loop is a journey into the raw and wild landscape of the Western Tatras, where the journey itself matters just as much as the summit.
Forests, water, rocks, moss and alpine flora lead us through a day that gradually changes from a wild forest path and rocky viewpoints into rugged mountain terrain. The higher you climb, the more the landscape opens up, revealing wide views across the Liptov and Orava regions.
Sivý vrch has a character of its own. It is not a polished or perfectly shaped mountain. It is raw, rugged and full of distinctive rock formations. Perhaps that is what makes it so special. Tt invites you to look around and notice the small details just as much as the wider views.
On the way back, the landscape changes once again as we return through a quiet and picturesque valley alongside the riverbed. The whole day creates a natural contrast between open mountain space and deep, wild forest.
A journey for those who do not just want to reach a summit, but to get lost for a while in a landscape that was here long before us.
