An exceptionally scenic journey through some of the most beautiful landscapes of the High Tatras.
Východná Vysoká offers a full mountain day through changing alpine terrain, where peaceful valleys gradually give way to rocky ground, steeper sections and more exposed terrain.
As the landscape opens up, the character of the journey changes too. Chains, rocky sections and the final ascent bring a more technical element, while the summit rewards the effort with incredible views across three valleys and the surrounding peaks.
In good conditions, the journey can also be extended with a summit to nearby Kupola. The ascent to Kupola is accessible only with a mountain guide.
The journey can be experienced in several different ways, from a longer loop starting in Starý Smokovec to a demanding three-valley route.
Variant 2
A longer loop starting and ending in Starý Smokovec. A full mountain day combining forest paths, alpine terrain and wide-open views.

Variant 3
A spectacular three-valley loop starting at Sliezsky dom. After reaching Východná Vysoká, the route continues through Prielom saddle and descends into Veľká Studená valley. This is the most technically demanding variant, with several sections secured by chains.
