Echoes of Tradition

Let’s discover the diverse face of the mountain wilderness. From deep valleys typical for Great Fatra and old forests to open ridges, mountain meadows and traditional shepherd huts.

To begin, we’ll travel further into the valley either by shuttle or by bicycle. Old forests and primeval woodland create quiet corners where the landscape changes gradually and every section has its own character. As we gain height, the forest slowly opens up, revealing a completely different world.

The ridge brings open space, grassy summits and wide views across the surrounding mountains. We continue across mountain meadows, where the eye can wander freely along the horizon and distant peaks stretch far into the distance.

Traditional shepherd huts and traces of pastoral life are also part of this landscape. For centuries, mountain shepherding has shaped these meadows and pastures. Here, wild nature meets traditional ways of life, creating a landscape with its own distinctive character and story.

On the way back, we descend once again into the valley and forests, creating a contrast with the open ridge. Over the course of one day, we experience the different faces of the mountains - from deep forests and open meadows to far-reaching panoramas.
