Open Horizons
Western Tatras · Bobrovecká vápenica
A journey through forests, rocks and silence, with a view that appears when you least expect it.
This journey leads into the wilder side of the Western Tatras. Through mixed forests, hidden trails and places where the landscape suddenly opens into beautiful views.
The journey disappears into the forest, where spruce, fir and pine trees mix together and the air carries the scent of the surrounding woods. Rocky walls and quiet corners appear between the trees. Some of the trails are subtle and hidden away from the main hiking routes giving the journey a sense of real exploration.
And then comes the view. Sometimes expected, sometimes completely unexpected. The forest suddenly opens and a landscape appears that you could not see just minutes before.
Along the way, we also come across traces of partisan history hidden in the forest. Old bunkers and signs of the past are a reminder that these woods were not always simply places to walk, but places where real stories unfolded.
A journey full of contrasts - wild forest, rock, the scent of pine, silence, unexpected views and small discoveries along the way. The kind of journey where you never quite know what is waiting around the next bend.
