Around the Limestone Cliffs

A journey into a landscape where sharp limestone cliffs rise above gently shaped mountain slopes and old forests shelter quiet, hidden corners.

The trails lead us into a forest that gradually changes with elevation. Beech woodland gives way to old spruce forests, with mountain pine appearing higher up. Between the trees, glimpses open onto striking rock walls, green mountain slopes and the surrounding landscape.

This area is also home to rare alpine flora, including Alpine aster and Edelweiss. It is a place to slow down, notice the details and discover a natural world that follows its own rhythm.

Along the way, we will explore hidden corners and mountain shelters, observe the changing forest and experience the contrast between the imposing limestone cliffs and the quiet of the surrounding landscape.

A journey for those who want to discover a wilder side of the mountains, learn more about their natural world and find places that do not reveal themselves at first glance.

Variant 2.

A longer variant for those who want to spend a full day immersed in a wild mountain landscape. The journey continues across an open ridge with far-reaching views and includes a stop at a mountain hut, offering time to rest and recharge before continuing.

Forest trails alternate with open mountain terrain. The wildness of the old forests gives way to elevation, open space and panoramic views across the Veľká Fatra mountains.
